Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine  that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam  deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

I'm off to Montreal!!

I'm heading over to Mony's place tonight so we can all get up tomorrow morning and head out bright and early for Montreal. I'm super stoked... but I'm not even sure I have everything I need packed.
I probably don't, but I still have 7 hrs before I actually leave.

So I'll be away from my DeviantART for the week, so comments and notes will be addressed/read when I get back next Tuesday.

A side note, I've basically retired from cosplay because I'm focusing more on my cosplay photography. I still enjoy cosplay and would like to do it again, but it'd have to be at a time when my education and my finances aren't so linked. Cosplay can get pretty expensive when you have to pay for college as well...
But that being said, if there was going to be an outfit I could wear cheaply and still be a character I was a fan of, plus being able to do photo shoots in, I think I'd be all over it!

Case in point, Durarara!! I just started watching this series yesterday... HOLY SHEET!!! I already love this show! And more specifically, Izaya and Shizuo. Yes, I know they're the most popular characters, but seriously, they steal the show! How can they not be popular? I honestly watch it now to see how fucked up those two can get in one episode! I've never been so compelled by an anime that I know so much, and yet so little about so many different characters. I'm only on episode 5! I've got 20 more to go! I don't want to stop watching, but I won't really have a way to watch it when in Montreal... *le sigh* I guess it'll have to wait 'til I get back.
To the cosplay point, I think I'd totally cosplay Shizuo. It's fairly simple outfit that I could move around in and it's a character I'm totally loving right now. :)

Obviously I won't be doing this for Otakuthon, but maybe Youmacon or a con next year. :)

Anyways, I've gotta get back to packing! I hope to see some of you at Otakuthon and if not, I'll be back on dA next week!

If you like the Durarara anime, I definitely recommend reading the light novels! There are some translations for them floating around somewhere and I find them quite enjoyable. =)

DRRRRRRRRR is probably one of my favorite animes. I freaking LOVE it and I think you will too. The story just keeps getting better and better, and you'll fall more in love with Shizaya. I cosplayed a genderbent Shizuo last year and had a blast! My friends and I are doing two Durarara!!! panels on Friday and Saturday :) Feel free to stop by if you're not too busy photoshooting :)
