Whew! it's been a whirlwind on events the last few weeks. But i have just finished editing Colossalcon photos (though I still Have a couple shots for a friend I have to edit from taht con), but I will be moving onto Otakuthon edits within the next few days!
Otakuthon was amazing as always! I had a major set back when my work told me that they wouldn't give me the time I asked for, but I was able to negotiate with them to get the key days for the con (and had to pay an extra $90 to change bus tickets, and paid for a night at the hotel I wasn't there for), but hey, it was worth it! My friends were very understanding with me being all over the place this year and were very accommodating to help me out. Thanks to kaiser-mony Aerialdown
and Kasier's bf, Jordan, for being awesome roomies and friends.
Also, had amazing food the whole weekend, no repeats of last years "sushi" fiasco. And went to a strip club with my friends... AWESOME!!! XD Can't get any better than Montreal strippers.
I got into Montreal at around 1:30 am Thursday night/Friday morning, and stayed until 5:30pm on Sunday. I'm so cheezed though that work didn't even call me in on Monday! Which means I could have stayed the extra day!! RAAAAAAAGE!, but too late now... And I ended up running into alucardleashed
on my bus back to Toronto, who I hadn't seen in over a year and a half, plus made some new friends, so it was good to chat and catch up. (plus we decided to go for late night Korean once back in Toronto XD).
I had a LOT of shoots this weekend, and editing is gonna take some time since school starts in less than 2 weeks, but I will prevail! I had so much fun shooting with everyone! Some were people I shot with before, others I hadn't, but everyone was a joy and a pleasure!
I also ran into Riddle1
this weekend during a photo shoot! She loved the cosplayers I was working with and I was like, "Wait, you're Riddle!" She is very sweet and petite. Just seemed like a great gal.
Though I wish I had given her one of my business cards when I snapped her photo... Delayed brain wouldn't function.
In any case, I'm so glad I got to see everyone I did this weekend. Some people I only got to say a brief hi to, others I had LONG conversations and bonding time with, and others I was just happy to see again after a long time. Otakuthon has always been kind to me in terms of the con itself. There's little to no confusion about where to go or what to do, and everything is organized, patient and well thought out. I noticed more security than usual this year, but nothing too invasive.
I recommend to ANYONE interested in coming to this con that you should make it a priority or at least go once, if just to see the beauty of the city.
SO that's about it!! Thanks you guys and I'll talk to you later!!
(PS, expect photos to be uploaded in the near future. I haven't had time to do it lately, but they shall be up soon. They are also available to be viewed on my FB fanpage, found in the links below!)
