Thanks to everyone who has contacted me for shoots. To those that I have shoots with, I look forward to shooting with all of you! And to those of you who I was unable to take on this time around, I'm sorry and I do hope I can shoot with you in the future.
I'm quite excited by the cosplays that I'll be shooting at AN. Pandora Hearts, SuckerPunch, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Granado Espada, they all look so interesting! Not to mention I'm a fan of the Hetalia shoots (as evident by the amount of Hetalia in my gallery). hehe
Also!! I just did a photo shoot yesterday at Kariya Park in Mississauga (BEAUTIFUL location!!) with *
kaiser-mony, ~
Aerialdown, ~
temeluchus, Jess, and Cassie, of their Gintama cosplays, and Rachel and Jenny hung out with us in the park since we had a picnic as well. Mmmm, beautiful weather, cherry blossom trees blooming, good food and company, it was awesome! And of course sushi for dinner at the end of the night. We did some night time shots, but I'm not too happy with how they came out. I'm not very good at night time shooting yet...

But The photos from yesterday are currently being editing for posting and I'll probably have them up in the next few days (depending on what work is like). But I will post one tonight of ~
temeluchus in her Kagura cosplay.

Alrighty, tis all for now!!

Until next time...
I wish you good luck for all your private shoots. You're doing very well, much better than when I started!
I also did a Sucker Punch shoot at Anime Boston, you can see a shot here: [link] 1st row, 2nd-left image. I tagged along famous cosplay photographer ~TheDreamerWorld - she was kind enough to let me shoot over her shoulder.
Did you know this: If a group cancels their shoot with you, you can use your newly freed-up slot to spend extra time with the group preceding that empty slot. Extra time = Can do more things (more poses), do things slower (do things right), have less stress (reducing errors), have more time to chat and get to know the cosplayers you're shooting, and shoot at more than 1 location (more variety of backgrounds).
If the preceding group does not want extra time with them, then this is what you can do: grab a random, well-dressed cosplayer from the hallways and do a mini-shoot with them. Introduce yourself, tell them politely that they're good-looking and that you would like to do a photoshoot with them. This is what I did at Anime Boston when I had extra time. See the same AB collage, 1st row 2nd-right; and 2nd row 1st-left, 2nd-left & 1st-right. I either extended their scheduled shooting times or grabbed random cosplayers from the hallways.
I have 3 free slots left and am having a bit trouble filling them... I do take last minute requests and at-con re-schedulings, so having them free for the moment is not that much a problem.
If you want some tips & tricks on night shoots and low-light photography, feel free to tag along any (or both) of my 2 night shoots on Saturday night. My schedule is in my Journal. [link] I have 2 flashes and may be able to lend you one to take photos alongside me. This may also be an occasion to talk to me and chat!
Well then, see you at Anime North! I wish you an excellent convention, and hope that your role as a cosplay photographer will be rewarding, both for the heart and the wallet (especially for the heart).
Maybe if it ever stops raining here we can do our shoot...questionmark?
Indeed!
I'm glad you got that Sunday spot filled up. Tee hee...
I can't wait to see how the rest of the shoot turned out!
Ooh I can't wait to see more photos of that Gintama shoot you guys had
the photos are looking good, we had a wide angle lens, so the shoots are all epic. XD
